Hair help, highlighted in Aug, can I dye it?

So as above really, I had my hair high lighted in August in a salon and now I'd like to go back to my natural colour. Will it go green or has it been long enough? Can I use a home dye to go back to a shade close to my own or do I have to wait until it's grown out completely? I'd never dyed my hair before so I'm a complete novice.

I've used home dyes over highlights in a shorter time frame than that with no problems at all. I don't want to say it will definitely be fine, because obviously different people's hair responds differently, but I've been fine.

Whatever's on offer :o. They're much of a muchness, really - some have a comb applicator which I prefer to the thin nozzle, (but now I can't remember a single brand name so I can't tell you which - sorry). And you can't really mess up with the foam ones, either.

I put nice n easy over week old highlights and it came out fine.
