Best hair clips/grips

I am growing my hair out, and have began to twist it backwards (a la cersei from GoT) but bobby pins stick out at odd angles and my little crocodile clips lose their grip.

What are the best things to keep hair back?

I'm doing the same as you and I use the tortoise shell Basicare Shell Effect Snap Clips (look for them on Ocado). They sell them in Waitrose.
