Can I wear a poncho?

If so... any nice ones around?
I really fancy one... but so far I have tried on two and reminded myself of Clint Eastward...not the look I was hoping for!

I'm 5 ft 7, nearly 48 and skinny... dh reckons I'm too lanky to carry one off Sad especially with my short-growingintoamullet-hair, but I really fancy one!

Should I just give up on the idea?

I have a lovely fine wool one from Pure (bought at a concession in John Lewis). It is not bulky , and a plain colour (soft grey/mauve colour). I don't think I look like Clint Eastwood! I wear it over a white shirt or thin polo neck . So cosy and comfortable .

I have a fine one from esprit - I wanted the jigsaw one but thought it was a bit expensive at £80, similar at esprit was £30 with free delivery

I wouldn't say 5'7" is lanky! Don't get a patterned poncho- too Clint Eastwood. A plain one like gonegrey has is nice.

I've got loads of them.

My current favourite is the new Joules one. It's not the Clint Eastwood influence.

I always look at those kind and think I'd look like one of the Gipsy kingsGrin

I have one from jigsaw that I bought 2 years ago. I love it. It's not too big so it doesn't look like I'm wearing a tent. And it's so warm.

I'm 5ft 4 and quite slim (size 10) and I was worried a poncho would swamp me but I think it looks good.

I am 5' 7.5 and have 3 from Jigsaw this year.

I love them. I am definitely not lanky.

Cherrypie32 · 15/11/2015 20:14

yes you can wear one, but not checked or fringed, keep them plain, you are lucky as being skinny you could carry the chunkier knit of the current Joules one easily.

BrendaandEddie · 16/11/2015 10:30

I'm the same height and build as you (with short hair too), and have the John Lewis cashmere one in light grey. I also tried the Jigsaw one, but preferred to pay the extra to have JL as the cashmere made it much finer (snugglier), and I preferred the extra length (the Jigsaw one was too short on my body so let in too much cold air).

I've worn it loads this autumn and it gets a lot of love from friends and family.
