Strappy, sparkly sandals for Christmas BUT with covered toe?

RedMapleLeaf · 15/11/2015 18:36

I'd like some sparkly sandals to wear with dresses but I need to be able to wear them with sheer tights. Any ideas?

Or alternatives for wearing short hemlines with legs that need a bit of a helping hand?

These?

RedMapleLeaf · 15/11/2015 18:53

I like those, but I would usually spend about £40 on sandals and a lot more on walking boots. The other thing is that I'm not keen on pointy shoes as I have long toes and feel self-conscious about having big feet.

My feet are a 6 or 6 1/2. Is that big?

They're lovely! No you don't have big feet, I'm 7.5-8 and I'd buy them. In fact I might. DD age 11 has size 6 feet!

RedMapleLeaf · 15/11/2015 18:58

I used to wear a 7 or an 8. I think my feet have shrunk with age and weightloss. Who knows?

Cheaper suggestions very welcome.

Some one posted a John Lewis own brand pair which were virtually identical but only £59. I love them but I like a much higher heel. Have a look on the JL website? These are nice but not worth £100.

I have a pair of Red or Dead Dorothy heels. Silver glittery shoes witha round to. Gorgeous.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 15/11/2015 19:47

They are lively shoes. Bit pricey though for something you would not get much wear out of. My feet are size 7 and I'm only 5 foot 4. They grew half a size with each child!

tinkywinkyshandbag · 15/11/2015 19:48

Lovely not lively!

gincamelbak · 15/11/2015 19:56

The Dorothy shoes? I got them as a Christmas present 3 years ago and have worn them to two weddings, two Christmas days, a burns Night and a few other days and nights out. I loves them and would wear them all the time given half a chance. Quite.comfy too.

captainflash · 15/11/2015 20:21

I was trying to find the Red or Dead Dorothy's but came across these. V v v sparkly and quite cheap too:
(I can't do short links- sorry!)

Oh my god, you lot are great at this.

I have spent 200% of my November clothing budget and we're not even half way through the month yet.

There's a John Lewis alternative to the mint velvet ones. Half the price. Called Blake

BrendaandEddie · 16/11/2015 07:49

Not the shuwish ones IMO. Trashy

I haven't clicked on the bit.ly link!

I've ended up going more for shoes than sandals, although I have heard of a legend of toe-less tights. My dresses ended up quite sparkly (I was only supposed to buy one, nevermind) so I don't mind making my shoes a bit less glitzy and a bit more comfortable.
