Jo Malone perfume

So there I was in Milton Keynes John Lewis giving the Jo Malone perfume big licks.

Brought home about a dozen pieces of card with their names on and two squirts to each card ( one to get over the smell of paper) with no idea some of these were over a £100 a bottle.

Very nice but really? I can't tell which one I like the best or whether any of them are so different from what I have to warrant £85- 106!

The assistant was very sweet. I would probably have got a card for each of them but DH was hungry and had fled the shop as he'd had enough of the smell.

It's a lovely experience going to the Jo Malone counter and I think they are all very wearable. But... in my experience the fragrance does NOT last long on your skin, so I can only think it's watered down and therefore not worth the money. There was a thread on here a while back saying how JM had sold to Estée Lauder I think? But she has apparently opened up something else. 'Jo Loves' maybe...? In short... save your pennies.

Its worth the money, it doesn't smell like chemical crap like a lot of perfumes.

It DOES depend which fragrance you but whether or not it lasts though. I've had some that do and others that don't.

Pomegranate Noir lasts well on me but I find it too strong for daytime wear. The lighter fragrances I love such as English Pear and Freesia and Blackberry and Bay do not last long on me at all. They are better if layered with the body lotion but still not great.

Good fragrances, craphole lasting power. I buy the 30ml and carry it round.

Isn't Jo Malone owned by one of the other perfume companies now.

Think 'Jo Loves' is her new company.

expatinscotland · 15/11/2015 16:05

They are a rip off. Don't last for shit and over-priced.

I'm not a fan. Every JM fragrance I've tried has been boring. They literally only smell like whichever two notes are in the name. No complexity, no sophistication imo. Plus they're weak as hell as previous posters have pointed out.

I'd rather spend my ££ on decants of top quality perfume and vintage scents than on Jo Malone.

Since Jo Malone sold the company the quality is not there. With few exceptions, the new fragrances smell like furniture polish and barely last 20 minutes. The Jo Loves range is much much better and has some nice and slightly unusual fragrances. I still like Blackberry and Bay but not much else, to be honest.
