Simple but 'unusual' pendant necklaces

Slightly random but thought you wise people might know. I have approx 150 pounds and I'd like to get a simple gold or silver pendant I can wear a lot. I like a lot of Alex Monroes designs like the bee, dragon fly and lockets. I can't help but feel they're slightly overpriced as just gold plated. Though equally I don't know what type of material I could expect in my budget either. Any ideas? Any idea on similar jewellery designs?

Thought their pendant necklaces were beautiful and unusual - haven't bought one myself so can't comment on the quality.. but its on the Christmas list!

I had a lovely necklace commissioned earlier in the year.

It is so simple -silver with a drop pearl and a lovely opal, it's very unusual and very chic. Cost me £120 at local (amazing) jeweller's workshop. They happened to have the stones handy as they were refurbed from something else so I got them for far less than they would have RRP in a chain jewellers.

You'd be surprised at what your money can get you. Go shop around and see what independent jewellers suggest you do for your budget and your taste.

Not exactly sure how to do clicky links but have a look at Alan ardiff jewellery he makes fab pendants that have moving parts inside - really lovely and unusual. www.alanardiff.com

I like Ortak and Wendy Kemp particularly her Oak collection.
Kit Heath too, sometimes.
