Can I use purple shampoo on brown hair?

I had my hair coloured today from blonde to mid/light brown ombré. She's done a fab job but to cover the blonde it needed more warmth than I like. She is doing it again 1st December to get it perfect.

In the meantime can I use purple shampoo like you do to tone correct blonde to tone down the red or will that not work? I forgot to ask my lovely hairdresser !

Green counteracts red and purple counters yellow/brassiness, but you might notice the purple doing something, perhaps more subtly than you're hoping for though . You could also try just washing it, I find the intensity of a new colour often fades a little after the first wash. Good luck!
