so I had very dark brown coloured hair with dark build up at the root and I wanted it to be a nice brown like a chocolatey lightish/mid brown(rubbish description). after 2 attempts with color b4 (rubbish hardly lifted the colour at all) and the scott cornwall product today, finally my hair has lifted, it is quite a pleasant orangey red almost the light brown I was aiming for but with too much reddy orange in it. Can anyone recommend a semi permanent (no mixing so one of those 8 washes type not the 24 washes that need mixing) that I can buy off the shelf preferably that will give it a nice overall colour, I think I need ash but tbh I don't really understand any of these descriptions of shades all I know is I don't want to end up going too dark again by mistake. Can anyone advise me in nice simple terms what I should be getting, especially if anyone has used a brown that they have loved that is not too dark.
