Going to a wedding in the next couple of weeks and wondered if you lovely lot can help me choose a dress. I'm 5"3, brown hair and slim build. What do you think of these two? Many thanks Smile

Love the black and white one.
Not keen on pink so I don't like the first.
Love the second tho :-)

ReggaeShark · 03/11/2015 16:22

You'll catch your death. Don't forget your vest.

thebestfurchinchilla · 03/11/2015 16:28

Summer dresses though OP. The second would be ok with thick black tights and a jacket or cape. The lace one would leave me in a quandary over my legs lol

misscupcakes · 03/11/2015 16:30

I have a dress very similar to the first one but it isn't a very flattering fit - the 'waist' line just isn't at the right height. I think you take your chances with this shape of dress. I'd be wary about ordering that dress online without trying it on.

I think the other dress looks smarter but would pair it with some bright accessories to make it look more fun :)

How about this?

NameChange30 · 03/11/2015 16:36

For a winter wedding I'd go for a jewel colour (eg dark red, purple, dark green) or maybe silver/gold or something with a bit of sparkle. You will need tights and a jacket or cardie so think about the whole look with accessories.

Out of those two I prefer the pink but it is a bit summery. The black and white one is boring, sorry!

NotTodaySatan · 03/11/2015 16:38

Not keen on either but the second is really awful.

Or this. I'm shopping online for myself for a dress.

burnishedsilver · 03/11/2015 16:46

Approx what age are you are what is your budget?

I think the first one is too Summery. The second in nice enough if you already own it but if youre buying something new I think you could find something a bit more wow. The third is a bit riverdance.

burnishedsilver · 03/11/2015 16:47

Yes, the laredoute dress could work.

Error404usernamenotfound · 03/11/2015 16:53

The pink one looks a bit 'little girly' IMHO. I probably wouldn't look twice at the black and white one, although it would look good with some bright accessories - red or hot pink, I'm thinking. It would be quite versatile to have in your wardrobe, too, if that's a consideration.

I like the style of the laredoute one, but I don't like the colour (although that may just be because mid-grey makes me look half-dead)

Queenbean · 03/11/2015 16:54

The first one looks very cheap

The second one is lovely - where is it from?

The third one looks too Wednesday Adams. And the fourth looks cheap again I think.

NameChange30 · 03/11/2015 17:41

There are LOADS of winter wedding outfits on Asos. It depends what you're after, but FWIW here are a couple of options I found:

Asos pleated midi dress 5 colours, £42
Asos side cut out midi dress 2 colours, £48

roseandgrey · 03/11/2015 18:28

Thank you so much for your help. I'm really stuck! Love the suggestions, please keep them coming. I'm 30, if that helps?

Queenbean they are both Karen Millen

Ooh this dress is pretty. Too pale for a winter wedding but would be lovely for a wedding in spring or summer.
