Are my bras too big or too small?? I'm wearing a 36D, but getting terrible 'double boob'......doesn't matter under a big baggy jumper Grin but looks awful otherwise! What do I need to adjust?

You almost definitely need a bigger cup. Measure yourself following this guide and one of us will help with suggestions.

TwoNoisyBoys · 01/11/2015 22:49

Ooh right, thank you! I'll do that tomorrow and come back! Smile

Finally found a tape measure!! Ok. My under boob measurement is 32 and a half, and my around boob measurement is 41 inches. What do I need to do now?

start with a 32G and work from there size wise.

pearpotter · 04/11/2015 17:26

It sounds like you might need a 32/34 G. Though I measure 32 under boobs and still need a 36- I did try a smaller size but it wouldn't fasten or was so tight that it was highly uncomfortable.

This is quite good too:

Yup. Your cup size is too small.

Enjoy shopping for new bras. It will make a massive difference to how your clothes fit.

TwoNoisyBoys · 04/11/2015 17:33

32G???? Blimey. I don't think I've seen those in primark! Sounds like it'll be expensive! Thank you for your replies Smile

You could go to Bravissimo and get them to advice. They're brilliant. I felt like a new woman after they sorted me out! (Had been wearing completely the wrong size.) They're obviously more expensive than Primark but you don't need to buy anything. Just find out what size you are. Although given your size you will probably have to spend more to get the right fit, even M&S don't have many bras above an E cup.

isntthatapippip · 04/11/2015 17:39

Bravissimo are amazing. Totally worth the extra money.

Branleuse · 04/11/2015 17:39

you wont get a 32g in primark, but you will in debenhams or bigger department stores, or bravissimo if you live near one.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/11/2015 18:13

Pearpotter, the whole add 4" thing doesn't work anymore - unfortunately a lot of online guides still say to do it (as do some useless shops like M&S) but it doesn't give sufficient support in the majority of cases.

iwantgin · 04/11/2015 19:03

It is an eye opener to discover that you can't get cheap bras in the proper sizes.

I am only a 32 E - but none of the supermarkets sell that size. (I say none, but only looked in Sainsburys and Asda so far).

Most D+ cups start at a 34 back size.

It's v annoying.

QforCucumber · 04/11/2015 19:07

iwant asda definitely do a 32f so I'd say they do the e too, usually just in their Tshirt bras, and I find them online or in our local George/asda home store rather than the supermarket. Usually at about £8/9 each so good for everyday white and black ones.

iwantgin · 04/11/2015 19:11

Ooh - I will have a better look then.

Thanks. Q

NameChange30 · 04/11/2015 19:12

Omg Asda do large cup sizes! Awesome!

MrsPCR · 04/11/2015 19:18

I found John Lewis to be best for bras. They're not too pricey. Think you can get 2 pack t-shirt bras for about £22. Definitely worth it for the better fit.

TwoNoisyBoys · 04/11/2015 20:41

Thanks so much for all the recommendations....looks like I need to go shopping (again!)

Once you have a feel for which size works in different brands then the Internet is your friend. Brastop, debenhams clearance, my curves and me,amazon and leia all have great deals on last season colours. Try to go to a decent shop and try Freya, fantasie, panache, cleo and curvy Kate which are the big d+ manufacturers. Then shop online
