Does anyone have a Mulberry Small Bayswater Satchel?

I have fallen in love with this bag but haven't seen it IRL yet. I love, love, love the Oxblood colour way. If, just if, this was to be a major investment for me, would the Oxblood last over the years in terms of colour or is it gong to look seriously 2015 in a few years time? Oak would be my second choice.

And, if you have the bag, do you love it? How do you wear it - handles or slung over your shoulder? Is it a nice size? I want it for casual wear, not work.

I dreamt of this bloody bag last night and now that I have fallen this much in love, I can't find an alternate burgundy/wine/Oxblood (call it what you like!) bag that is as beautiful.

Please, ignore this thread if you don't like the price tag Grin!

I've got the mini Alexa, which is similar to the mini Bayswater.
The oxblood is lovely irl. I toyed with the bright red (but think that would definitely date) so I got the oak as felt it was a more classic colour.

I really love it. I wear it over my shoulder mainly, sometimes cross body as the strap is long enough. Occasionally, I carry it. It is roomy, I can get phone, keys, big purse & lippy in it.

In fact I haven't used it for a while, I must get it back out.

Thanks Pippin, really interesting to hear the mini Alexa is a similar size and you can sling it over your shoulder. Yes, the red is a lovely, vibrant colour but the oak is definitely more classic. Enjoy yours!

I have the small bays satchel. It's a good size, fits purse, phone, make up bag easily. I usually wear it cross body. Mine is the conker colour from a few years ago but not that different to oxblood, which I think will be a great colour for years to come. There are burgundy clothes and accessories around every winter.

I would say the mini alexa is a bit good bit smaller actually, but still a lovely bag. If you're tall it might be a bit too small.

I also have an oak full size bays. The colour is great but it's heavy and I prefer something smaller if I have to carry it all day.

Apologies for the hijack but can I please ask mrsrhodgilbert about the conker colour - is it more red than brown? I am contemplating a pre owned conker Alexa. Thank you Flowers

I have the mini Bayswater in black and I love it - good size. I've had it since 2011 and it isn't showing any wear - I use it frequently but not everyday. I like the oxblood colour! I'd say it was fairly timeless. Smile. I carry it cross body or just on one shoulder generally as I feel the handles are just a little too small and I don't like to hold a bag with my hand if you get me? I'd rather have it on my arm or on my shoulder. Grin

Feel free to hijack Cheesy - it bumps the thread!

Thanks Mrsrhodg and KateSpade ... it's sounding more and more perfect! I just need a trip to the big smoke to hold and try one! It might be a Christmas present from me to me!

Hello cheesy, yes it is more red than brown. It's a beautiful colour, I would love an Alexa in this colour, go for it.
