Botox experiences?

Could anyone talk to me about their Botox experience and how it works?

I have a few lines when I smile where dimples used to be, crows feet etc

I have it done by a baaps surgeon. Only on my forehead. He is very generous with it and it only costs £75. Works within 3 days. Lasts about 6 months

Birdsgottafly · 24/10/2015 17:25

I got Botox and filler, on my Nasal to mouth lines. I liked the filler and a major line across my forehead never came back, fully.

I'm 48 now and have decided to up my skincare routine, but I don't want to spend on Botox etc.

I think you get to an age where there's so much that needs "work", that you've got to embrace your aging body, or you look strange.

My DD has been having small amounts of Botox for two years, it's subtle. She was a terrible frowner.

I would find a Nurse Practioner/Perscriber via recommendations, so they do what you want and will give you a good overall price, rather than a Tracey Bell type clinic.

browtox · 24/10/2015 17:25

it might help if you asked questions. i love it, bugger the light touch crap they say on here , i have my big frown line ( not 11s, just a harsh 1) between my eyes done and my smile lines at the side. It makes you look less tired, I can still move my face unlike what detractors say.

I don't waste money on anti wrinkle creams any more

browtox · 24/10/2015 17:26

oh yes, I use a nurse. Not tracy bloody mountford, whoever she is, beloved of mumsnet

Birdsgottafly · 24/10/2015 17:27

If you are thinking about your Forehead, you need them to guarantee that your Brows won't drop.

Birdsgottafly · 24/10/2015 17:29

Same as Browtox, my DD looks refreshed and as though she lives healthily (rather than be overworked, under a lot of stress and a smoker).

browtox · 24/10/2015 17:33

I had eye droop for a week last year (luckily in the summer) as i had asked her to do an area that was too near the eye. She said she had only experienced it before a couple of times, it went relatively ok, looked like an eye infection

DonkeyOaty · 24/10/2015 17:38

Am collecting trays/syringes next week from my dentist (for toof whitening) and am jolly tempted to ask reception if they have a botox practitioner on staff...

Valdeeves · 24/10/2015 17:40

Thanks for these - it's the lines around my mouth when I smile that bother me the most has anyone had those done and is it filler or Botox?

DonkeyOaty · 24/10/2015 17:40

Have a childhood scar across bridge of nez that has become quite deep and has a kind of Gordon Sweary Chef chin air about it. Plus no 11s but they are over one eyebrow Hmm

maybemyrtle · 24/10/2015 17:40

I've been thinking about this. I don't want to stop looking like me though and I don't really want anyone to notice, iykwim? Looking less tired/stressed sounds amazing though. I'm 39 next week.

Ridingthegravytrain · 24/10/2015 17:43

I think those lines need filler

GarlicBreadItsTheFuture · 24/10/2015 17:51

Botox is best in top half of face i.e. above the cheek bones. Below that you need filler.

I have light botox every 4 months - I'm 50 but it keeps me looking fresh and less tired than I look naturally. I go to a doctor.

Browtox · 24/10/2015 17:53

it is SO SO amazing. Make up goes on better, plus you don't get that moment of horror when your laptop starts up and you see your mother staring back at you

Valdeeves · 25/10/2015 00:33

I've never seen anyone with filler who didn't look unnatural though - has anyone got any before and after filler snaps?

OP posts:
PeppasNanna · 25/10/2015 00:57

How do you decide where to get botox done? I've been umming & ahhhing about this for ages...

Ancienchateau · 25/10/2015 13:03

It's usually filler round mouth. I had some botox in one small mouth line too which made a difference.

lurkingabit · 25/10/2015 14:07

Valdeeves I think you've only noticed the badly done ones. I know many with very well done fillers and you couldn't notice. An expert touch.
The only filler I almost always think isn't great is lips.

pdxs · 25/10/2015 22:34

My dentist does it for me with my checkups ! Grin

I pay 125 for forehead only, takes 5 mins, kicks in after about a week, last 4-6 months. Ive had it maybe 5 or 6 times in last decade (im late 30s now) ... no one has EVER noticed, never any problems... look fresher (and less frowny)

Used to work for a skincare company.. creams are a bit of a con, this works

I think personal recco is key... and based i this thread that i am paying too much!

pdxs · 25/10/2015 22:36

Experience: its about 6 little pin pricks on forehead, it hurts a little but over quick. Yiu MIGHT bleed a tiny bit so dont be in a rush. Being well rested, not stressed will help with pain - but its def a picnic compared to eg a bikini wax
