Suitable outfit for an October wedding?

I'm going to a wedding on Saturday, it's all in a country club. Would this be a suitable outfit?

It's this jumpsuit

m.houseoffraser.co.uk/on/demandware.store/Sites-hof-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=226911514

With a cream and lace belt from an old Coast dress and a lacy flower from another old dress. And I'm wearing the Diane Hassal shoes and the pearls from my own wedding.

What's your thoughts, ladies?

Love the jumpsuit and think you look great in it.

But (sorry!) really dislike the shoes and flower with it. The color combination is all wrong to me.

I would wear the jumpsuit and switch to colourful or black shoes and a statement necklace rather than the flower.

Oh and I would wear a faux fur jacket with it. This kinda thing.

The jumpsuit is lovely but I'm not keen on the shoes or corsage.

BistoBear · 22/10/2015 18:04

Thank you, I have black patent heels and this black patent belt

Would that be better?

The jumpsuit and belt in the OP look great! I'd go with the black patent heels over the cream ones, for sure.

The corsage doesn't work so well on the jump suit but maybe you could use it in your hair, that could work well. That said, it might actually be OK pinned on the jumpsuit one the cream heals have gone. Is hard to judge. Have you maybe got a fitted jacket that would work? Or possibly sore sort of shawl / wrap?

burnishedsilver · 22/10/2015 19:42

Love the jumpsuit but wear the black shoes and lose the flower. You could wear either belt. Have you a bag in mind?

Lots of useful tips, thanks :)

I will be wearing a tartan shawl/wrap that matches the tartan of my husband's kilt (Scottish wedding)

I have a lace clutch that would match the cream shoes or a black patent Osprey bag like this www.ospreylondon.com/item.php?product_id=1000171&product_name=THE-MYERS-LEATHER-CROSS-BODY&gender=7&subCat=60 but without the buckle, just a zip at the top.

So, I'm thinking of going black patent and losing the pearls. I have a beautiful vintage crystal necklace with matching earrings and bracelets I could wear.

And rather than the corsage, I have a fascinator thingamybob like this www.etsy.com/uk/listing/218847660/black-and-white-sinamay-hatinator?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_a-accessories-other&utm_custom1=6762a716-51d8-3389-5a07-00004e2a91a6&gclid=COy65Izm1sgCFWrpwgodnGwLLA

I'm off to look at Pinterest for hair ideas, thanks again for the tips :)

Tartan wrap sounds good.

Yes to ditching the pearls. Black shoes, belt and bag. I wouldn't wear the fascinator but that's just my preference.

You'll look great. Have a fab day!

BistoBear · 22/10/2015 21:10

Thank you, I'm looking forward to it, I love a good get together with a dance and laughter with friends.

I was thinking the whole outfit needed either a corsage or a fascinator to make it a bit more "weddingy" but then I think back to my own wedding and I didn't really care what anybody wore! As long as people enjoyed themselves :)

The tartan sounds great. I think it might be enough of a statement in itself. It might not need another statement piece to compete with. I'd be inclined to get your hair done (maybe put up if it's long enough) instead of the facinator. Perhaps try it all on and see what you think.

polyhymnia · 22/10/2015 23:03

I agree with PP. if you're going for the tartan wrap which is a really strong statement- as indeed is the black jumpsuit - keep everything else in low key taste/ style. Definitely ditch the fascinator and go for black bag and shoes.

polyhymnia · 22/10/2015 23:04

And go for a lovely hairdo as you're not wearing a hat/ fascinator.

Grok · 24/10/2015 05:43

Will you post a pic of the outfit before you head out tonight? I want to see the final outfit!

Enjoy the wedding :)

BistoBear · 25/10/2015 08:29

Morning ladies, slightly hungover this morning! It was a great day/night, lots of dancing so my feet are feeling it today. I don't have any full length pictures but have attached the best two.

Thanks again for all the help :)

That necklace looks good with the outfit.
