This is my first post in S&B, I'm really struggling with what to wear to an upcoming wedding reception . I have a couple of options but no accessories other than shoes.
This dress
www.hybridfashion.com/dresses-c5/mayfair-v-neck-contrast-lace-dress-sand-with-navy-p698
Or this jumpsuit

I'm a size 12 but not 100% happy with the amount of arm on show with both these options, can anyone with more fashion sense than me help with how to wear, and if they're OK for a wedding?
Thank you so muchSmile

I think either could work for a wedding, my personal preference is the jumpsuit - is yours navy or black?

Are you going to the whole wedding or just the evening? Is it likely to be super smart with big hats etc or more casual?

FauxFox · 21/10/2015 14:59

Though if you want covered arms it would probably be easier to find a long sleeved dress than a suitable cover up/shrug as I think your current options would look a bit odd with a cardi...I could see the jumpsuit with a cream blazer and hat for daytime but you'll still have arms-out for the meal/evening when you take the blazer off...

My jumpsuit is black, when I try it on I worry it's a bit too black for a wedding iyswim.

We're only going to the evening and I think it's reasonably casual but can't be too sure.

I should probably just get over myself and have my arms out really! I've lost weight and am struggling to see myself as a 12 and not a big 14.
I tried this on the other day and loved it

But I was hoping to not spend the money on another dress, although if I got that dress I wouldn't need any new accessories.

It's not as short on me as it is on that model btw!

Oooh I love that JL dress - i'd get it! You could wear in for xmas parties etc too so it will be totally worth it Grin

I love the jumpsuit and, I'd have thought it's less of an issue to wear black if you're just going to the evening do. If you turned up with a little coloured jacket, most people probably won't think of you as wearing black anyway they'll be too drunk to notice. And they really won't be worried about your arms, so I don't think you should either.

Having said that, I also really like the JL dress...

How tall are you as that jumpsuit comes up a bit short (I am 5ft 7). I wore a similar one from Phase Eight to a wedding this summer. I love a jumpsuit!

My auntie wore the black jumpsuit like yours to a wedding recently. She paired with with a patterned floaty shirt thing (sorry, no idea what it was called)

It was silk and didn't fasten at the front but had reds and pinks in it. Looked amazing and really lifted the whole outfit.
