Neglected skin can I have some help?

My poor very pale skin has been neglected for about 3 months. It's red and sore in some place with flakey bits other parts like my chin is oily also I've noticed small bumps under my skin on my cheeks Confused

I have a really big (dreaded word) Christmas do to go to with my husband for his work it's a really important thing apparently big bosses and wives etc and I need to get back on track. I have re started my diet aim to lose about a stone although I'm not that bothered as I am about the size which suits me the most. I drink lots of water at work and I should mention I would outside in all weathers.

Can anyone recommend anything to help? Would prefer not to spend a fortune although I will do if I need to.

how many weeks out is the party? I would think that good diet, thorough cleansing & balancing moisutriser (sounds like you have combination skin) would work.

To get a quick result: a facial soon & one a few days prior to the event would help

It's 8 weeks on Saturday, a facial sounds like a plan, I shall see if I can book in.

It's hard I've always been prone to dry skin now it just looks a mess

Not a beauty product but eating half an avocado every day and salmon twice a week really, really helps my skin. As does cutting refined sugar.

Sounds like a bollocks tip from Just Seventeen mag or something but it's honestly true. Grin

Also taking at least 5000iu of vitamin D3 a day clears my skin up after a few days.

Hot cloth cleansing using a flannel every night is a brilliant way to get some gentle exfoliation.

8 weeks is plenty of time to get it sorted btw. Smile

Sorry to derail but wagglebee is that true about the advocado & the salmon and how do you know?

Also OP - you say you have recently neglected your skin & therefore it's not behaving. So what were you doing before you were neglecting it?

I saw a dermatologist lately and my skin feels miles better can tell you her advice but I have rosacea so maybe not useful for you?

Also Sad To having to be perfect for the Xmas party.....
