Diesel jeans sizing

Am contemplating buying a pair of Diesel jeans from e-bay.

How does the sizing come up generally? I was a 28" waist in Levis about 30 years ago, and my current jeans are size 8 Uniquo or Gap.

I think size 8 is smaller than 28"? I'm asize 10 and usually 28" or 29", depending on the brand. Having said that, diesel come up small on me
