I need to find some winter boots for DD - almost 13.

We live in a town with rubbish shops so I am restricted to online. She's size 5 and still fits children's shoes, but everywhere I have searched online, the boots look like boots I used to dress her in when she was younger. She's indicated that she likes lace up boots, I think leaning towards a combat style boot, rather than a smart brogue style boot, but we've not found anything online that she likes, and she's not particularly fussy.

What other styles could look good on a girl with a very slight build, petite height, who is happiest in hoodies and skinny jeans or denim shorts? Her feet are big for her height and in the past ankle boots have looked odd on her. Or should I look at women's boot? Is that where most 13 year olds buy their shoes?

I think you are in women's sizing territory tbh, DD, at 9 is a 4. She had these boots last winter in Navy. They look good with jeans and/or skirts.

I know they are not in the size you want here but Timberland do nice boots for girls imo. Decent sole and durable boot, nice leather/nicely made.

I googled Timberland tall girls boots to find the ones I bought to link here - there are a few laced options on my search results.

My dd had exactly that issue at that age - we ended up with Timberland one year and Hush Puppies the next.
