I do not like Chanel Cristalle. AIBU?

I am not venturing into AIBU so I'll post here.

But I blind-bought a bottle of Cristalle EDP online after one of those 'Which perfume suits your personality?' online tests. Apparently my personality must be much like being smothered to death on new car upholstery near to a boggy riverbank. It must be a love it or hate it fragrance. I can see that some might love it, but I feel on the verge of gagging when I first spray it on. Just before the scent disappears on me altogether it gets nicer. Just before it disappears.

I am disappointed. And I feel like a twat for buying perfume online without finding out what it smells like first. Might it grow on me?

YANBU! I can't do Cristalle or No19 or even No5. Chanel generally is a bit of a no with me for some reason - I think it's all the aldehydes.

YABabitU to not try before you buy - it is very important to try it on skin and not just a paper strip too. Perfume changes as it warms on your skin. The proportion of notes matters as much as the notes used.

It probably won't grow on you but you can probably make most of your money back via ebay - pretty normal to sell unwanted perfume there.

I love it! It's fresh and light and it's my day time perfume.

YANBU - I can't wear any Chanel perfumes either, just like Hopeful. What's really annoying is that No.5 is my mum's signature scent and always smells gorgeous on her. I think it's me.

I love it, and Chanel 19. I am very difficult to please when it comes to perfume and dislike most perfumes that other people love. Or it could be that it smells better on me than it does on you.

Yes, it could be down to personal skin chemistry. My skin is rejecting it very hard! I think I will list it on eBay, thanks!

YANBU, smells like potting compost on me. Chanel Allure all the way.

There is a mulchy oakmoss note of the riverbank type there that is love/ hate and also it smells of a completely different era (1970s to me). Sell it on eBay and buy something that you like now.

I find chanels difficult too. The only one I can wear is coco EDT. The rest stink on me.

Oh my god, this is the only perfume I wear!
I adore it. To me it is the smell of happiness.

It just shows how individual our tastes are, as I hate almost every other perfume in the world!

YANBU. Toilet cleaner. I love the rest but Cristalle is the cuckoo in the nest.

I can't wear Cristalle because I associate it with being what I wore around my dad's death, but I do like the smell of it. I love 19 and wear it all year round, EDP in winter and EDT in summer. I have loads of other perfumes but 19 is the one that feels like me.

I love it but only in EDP, not EDT. I do prefer it more in the summer though.

Yanbu. There are very few perfumes I can wear as they smell awful on me. Allure is one of the few I can and as a result my signature scent.

Tabu to buy perfume without trying it on though.

I have frequently bought perfume that i haven't ever tried. Most are nice but what i was finding was they all smelt the same!!!
The best perfume i have bought which i am addicted to and just cannot stop wearing is Miss Dior originale. I have no idea why. I think its the smell when i spray it. I just love it.
I am so tired of perfumes out atm. They are just sickly sweet scents.
I like chanel cristalle as i do allure and no5. I think they are classics. You may find it grows on you. You can actually train yourself to appreciate it. I bought Miss Dior [ the new version] and didnt like it that much but have also grown to like that too. Its musky and love the dry down.
