Smelly leather jacket

I've just found the exact jacket I have been looking for all year..but it smells! Not a lovely new leather smell you want to bury your face into, more, um, goaty
It's a Helium brand from TK Maxx, not massively expensive (£99).
Any had this?
Will the smell ever go or does my search continue?

I bought a leather jacket from eBay a few years ago and it stank! I tried everything and the smell wouldn't budge. Having it professionally cleaned made it better but it still had a lingering whiff and I ended up giving it away.

OP - dust baking soda on the jacket, put it inside a plastic bag for several days. Check from time to time. The smell should diminish. Then air out on direct sunlight.

Ah, I suspect Eve this is going back too, sadly, as it's perfect. It'll be competing with any scent I wear!

I like goats.

Sorry, I thought it's your jacket! And that you found it from storage. If it's a new one that you have to buy, well...

I've tried this with a jacket that smelled of dust and old attic. I got it from eBay, Pierre Cardin from the 80s but smelled like from the 80s. Took a few days of baking soda and another few days of airing but the smell is pretty much gone now.

I like goats too.
I just don't fancy smelling like one Smile
