What shoes with this dress please?

I am short, so it's knee-high on me: www.reiss.com/p/floralprint-dress-womens-marla-in-multi-black/?category_id=11000

Initially I bought these shoes but they are horrendously uncomfortable and impossible to walk in, so they're going back: www.kurtgeiger.com/alfred-wine-leather-35-carvela-kurt-geiger-shoe.html

What shoes or boots could I wear with the dress, heel needs to be at least 6cm high and pref chunky so I can walk!! Colour, black or burgundy. Cheers

I think the ones you chose are too clumpy.....imho.

I would prefer a court shoe.

Kurt Geiger have some lovely shoes.

TwoInTheMourning · 15/10/2015 19:01

For some reason I don't look good in delicate pretty shoes; I always feel like a little girl playing dress up. I feel chunkier shoes/boots are better for my body shape. In fact, I've just realised I don't owe a single pair of shoes, only boots...

I think they would go fine.

The burgundy ones would look lovely, I think, although if it were me, I'd buy black. But I have far too many black shoes, so don't mind me.

phoolani · 15/10/2015 19:10

I'm a bit similar regarding delicate shoes, so I get it. But are you trying to dress it up or down? If up, you'll have to go with something more delicate.

SinglePringle · 15/10/2015 19:14

Not the style in your link. Far far too clumpy and will kill the dress.

I would go for a stiletto / court but if you can't bear the idea, go for one with a block heel.

TwoInTheMourning · 15/10/2015 20:09

I plan to wear this dress for work and the odd dinner out, nothing too fancy. The Carvela shoes I like but like I said they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn in my life. Stilettos, no, not me I'm afraid. I am a block heel or wedge type girl. I don't want to kill the dress but I still need to feel 'me' and be able to walk.

I like a clumpy shoe with a print dress, I think it looks good- a bit less 'grown up' a block heeled seventies Mary Jane type would be good too.

TwoInTheMourning · 15/10/2015 20:20

But I need links please

I love these boots but they are pricey and possibly too long for my short legs, I am only 5.2" (size 10)

would these be any good?

KateSpadeAddict · 15/10/2015 20:24

These could be great depending on where they sit on the ankle - will you wear black tights with the dress? So cosy looking too Smile . I’d aim to kind of fold down the top part to expose skinny bit of ankle? If you get me!?

KateSpadeAddict · 15/10/2015 20:25

Or these:

KateSpadeAddict · 15/10/2015 20:26

I love those Russell and Bromley ones but def a different look from the first boots you linked too.

TwoInTheMourning · 15/10/2015 20:51

I am a fan of Geox because they're really comfortable but I'm not keen on those lettuce. I like the ones you've linked to Kate but I would consider them too clumpy for the dress, and I do like a clumpy shoe! Grin
What do you thin about these? de.johnlewis.com/dune-oaklee-block-heeled-ankle-boots-black-leather/p2151162

nooddsocksforme · 15/10/2015 22:08

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/rioja-&-black-robyn-court/shoes/mint-v/fcp-product/5937 I think these would be nice but prob not what youre looking for . i think the rest are too clumpy

TwoInTheMourning · 16/10/2015 06:28

Hello nood, those shoes just wouldn't suit me unfortunately.

Loving the Dune boots. I have also tried these Daniel boots which are a cheaper option and the suede seems to blend with opaque tights and made my legs look longer.

TwoInTheMourning · 17/10/2015 07:19

Okay how about these?
