Help me dress my Gran for my wedding!

Hi,

Long time lurker here and have my own style and beauty problem that needs solved!

I am getting married in April next year and my Gran would like to wear a pink trouser suit.
Has anyone seen anything like this in the shops recently? She will be in a wheel chair as is very unsteady on her feet so something without too many buttons zips etc would be more suitable. In addition to this she is quite tall so a trouser option with a longer leg would be good. I presume that she means a salmon/pastel pink as opposed to a hot pink! I think she would take a size 14/16.

There doesn't seem to be much around in the way of a pink suit at the mo...I found this one on eBay that might be worth a look but i'm struggling to see anything in current stores.

Does it have to be pink?

Also in white. Gran might like white which you might be able to match with a white linen jacket with a nice pink top underneath.

They look nice and cosy and comfortable for someone sat in a chair. Does she walk at all?

I've not been able to find a single pink trouser suit, not even a horrible one in the wrong size. Nada.

How about something along the lines of this sort of arrangement?

Thanks so so much for the replies! I think the eBay one is the kind of thing she is thinking of FauxFox but i’d be worried to buy it from there incase I needed to return it. I think that yes...it does have to be pink as that is what she has her heart set on. It is so hard to find one isn’t it?! I think she would like that jacket Greengardenpixie - its the trousers that match it that i think she wouldn’t like Confused . She can walk and walks around her own on the level home with a walker or two sticks but she can’t go out alone or walk a distance at all.
I really like both those options Lettuce - I may buy it all for her to try on! I would say she is about 5”9 - at a mere 5”4 myself I don’t know where is great for longer trousers!

I think it's the wrong season for pink trouser suits.

Op, you could have one made . If gran never walks you could have the trousers cut deeper up the back so she stays warm and comfortable and a dressmaker would get them to the right length especially if she's a permanent user as they would be too long for someone standing but someone sitting all the time a dressmaker would allow for knee and hip crease.

A jacket could be made blouson style rather than more fitted blazer style.

Argh i’ve just realised that those pink trousers are not in stock...also 7/8 length and i don’t think she would like that! Pink suits do not exist :(

Sorry cross post! I know it is a rubbish time of year to be looking but I’m slightly worried about leaving it as late as March as I have a feeling that i will have other wedding things to do then Blush

Oh, here, a pink suit! Very nice price too. trousers & jacket (you have to scroll right down the scrolly bit to see the jacket in the pink). Something like this would work really well with it.

Is she not wanting some sort of hat BTW?

Lettuce that is brilliant - I think she would like that although the exposed zip on the trousers may be a sticking point as it isn’t that traditional. Will add it to my order list.

I don’t think she wants a hat as because she will be mainly sitting in her chair I think she feels it will get in the way of seeing things Smile
