Please recommend a good moisturizer cream for dry, red patchy skin?

I have always had really good skin, however recently my skin has gone extremely dry, red and quite patchy!! this morning i woke up with a little red rash on my left cheek!

I am going to try and swap my makeup and makeup removers to see if this help, but my skin in general is very dry! I have also just started using oral contraception, so i don't know if this is linked to it!

Anyway please can any of you lovely ladies recommend any good moisturizers?

Can I recommend a serum? S5 Skincare Calm Serum. I sometimes go a bit mad with acid toning and my skin gets unhappy, especially if I'm using toner with alcohol (you could try cutting out products containing alcohol as well if you use any). It gets red and patchy and this stuff really calms it down and makes it soft again. I had a trial size to begin with before getting the full size.

Ellie I've just been to my dr with similar issues and she said I had a bacterial infection! Maybe see your Dr?

It could also be the onset of mild rosacea? It's characterised by dry skin and red patches.

My formerly oily skin is now dry as a dessert and I have red patches on cheeks.

I would ask for an appointment with a dermatologist, if it doesn't get better. They usually prescribe Rozex topical gel (although it didn't help me).

I have changed my face wash to E45 face wash and my moisturiser to Ole Henriksen Nurture me, and my skin is more manageable now.

Helpful article if it rosacea (which it may not be):

I have removed all my makeup and this is the rash! What do you think?

I can't work out what is causing it!! I have just bought some coconut oil and hope this helps!

Rainbowblue- really? What was the treatment? What could cause a bacterial infection?

It's impossible to say, it could just be sensitised skin that will calm down itself.

If your skin has suddenly turned dry, I would say you should see a dermatologist.
