Are NARS lip pencils worth the money?

I am going to Space NK later (hardly every get to one, very excited) and I am so tempted by these. I've got a shortlist of 10 Velvet Matte and Satin ones I want to try out, but they are just so expensive! The colours though... so many beautiful colours...I can't even... I've Googled around for dupes, but not a lot look very good in comparison. Do you have any? Which ones and do you think they were worth the money?

Honestly, I think Nars products in general are massively overrated. Every Nars product I've bought has been in response to positive reviews etc but I've felt the same about each one - distinctly meh. I have Dolce Vita which is OK - not that moisturising, not great staying power but a nice colour.

Sorry, don't want to rain on your parade Confused

I have one and I really like it, so yes, I would buy them.

I have one, I love the colour, but it's not worth the money. I regularly get it mixed up with my Boots one.

I have dolce vita & red square. Love them both. Good colours on my skintone and the staying power is good without drying my lips to death.

The only thing I would change if I was being uber fussy is I'd make them twist up not sharpen as I hate getting gummy crud in my sharpener and I don't find they clean very easily (sharpeners).

I have one of their lip crayons that you use to colour in all of your lips. I think it was about £20, which he thought was towards the top end of what I would really pay. It is so soft, and lasts hardly any time at all, that I used it all within a fortnight. Not good value at all for me, but I did like it.

Yes yes yes! I have a satin one called hyde park and i love it.
Just dug it out this morning as an autumn colour after wearing coral/orange all summer

I didn't have any responses before I left to go there, so I had to make up my own mind people! Grin I got the Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg. It's lovely. I nearly got Dolce Vita Velvet Matte. Maybe next time.

I have a couple of other bits that I love, but they are skin stuff (a powder and the eye primer). I think it pays to spend a bit more on skin stuff, but not always for lips, which was why I asked. The colour was just SO lovely though! I tried a couple of the matte ones and was really impressed at how non-dry they were.

I have a few, I think they are great.

Agree that they don't sharpen very well but it does mean you can get a more precise line.

I've stopped buying expensive pencils, NYX are just as good. Get them on Amazon or eBay.

The Nars radiant concealer is a must though!
