Do these shoes say sassy or granny?

I've ordered these shoes and they're ridiculously comfortable. This now means that I wondering if they're aimed for the older market? I googled them and they're sold on fiftyplus.co.uk.

I'm also not used to wearing flat shoes and these feel a bit like slippers.

DH says they look lovely. What do you think? It's the rubber sole I think I'm doubtful about. I'm mid-40s so it could go either way and I'm not sure if they'd look a bit frumpy on me.

Do these shoes say sassy or granny?

Burn them, burn them with fire. They are heinous. They say, "I have given up on being attractive"

CreviceImp · 13/10/2015 23:03

There is no universe in which those shoes could be described as stylish.

None.

Nettletheelf · 13/10/2015 23:06

Oh yeah, and your DH is fibbing (or has terrible taste).

CreviceImp · 13/10/2015 23:06

They say -support tan tights,a Dannimac and tena lady reliance. Also the wearer has a fluff covered mint in a snap top handbag.

Catalogue, even. Grin

CainInThePunting · 13/10/2015 23:11

Sorry OP, those are hnnnghgh shoes.

Sorry.

Nettletheelf · 13/10/2015 23:11

I just looked on Fiftyplus.com to see whether you chose the worst shoes they sell. It was a close run thing but i think these are marginally worse, being beige and conveying the message, "I am a slave to my bunions and watch Dickinson's Real Deal in a chair made by HSL"

Or these (poor Keira Knightley, sharing a name with these horrors):

pieceofpurplesky · 13/10/2015 23:25

My 75 year old mum just called them frumpy ....

polyhymnia · 13/10/2015 23:55

There's no getting away from fact that Gabor shoes are aimed at an 'older' market whose priority is comfort. Not sassy and here's another granny who wouldn't feel happy in them - much as I like to have comfortable feet.
I've seen worse though - Hotter are my particular bête noire.

burnishedsilver · 14/10/2015 03:47

Totally granny.

LeaveMyWingsBehindMe · 14/10/2015 03:59

I am fifty and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. And I am someone who struggles to find comfy shoes for my wide feet.

ChiefInspectorBarnaby · 14/10/2015 05:53

Nettletheelf those sandals are the kind that I sometimes see older ladies wearing who have a fluid retention problem in their feet and ankles and their feet bulge out of all the gaps. OP it's a shame they're comfy but so are massive Bridget Jones knickers and people don't admit to wearing those either...

polyhymnia · 14/10/2015 14:04

And aaaargh to those 'Keira' sandals!

rosepepper2010 · 14/10/2015 18:30

ha ha coconut!! Seriously no!!! even a granny wouldn't wear them.

I cannot imagine a man saying they look lovely! (sorry!!)

Oh my, they are awful. If a shoe is the same colour as a turd then stay away. They are an insult to grannies everywhere.

chickentothefox · 14/10/2015 19:14

Oh my eyes!

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 14/10/2015 19:16

They are perfect to accessorise with a zimmer frame....

Madbengalmum · 14/10/2015 19:21

Eeevilll shoes!!!
Insult to granny shoes.

DickDewy · 14/10/2015 19:23

They need tea coloured tights, a bandaged shin and a touch of edema.

Preminstreltension · 14/10/2015 19:29

I'm struggling to see where you'd get "sassy" from in this situation tbh.

WaggleBee · 14/10/2015 20:28

God no! Back away from them immediately!

And stop looking for anything you'd describe as 'sassy' as you're just asking for frumpy there.

73dexter · 14/10/2015 20:39

Nettletheelf - you are a star for posting those bunion sandals! They will be perfect for my mum who has awful bunions but she isn't a fan of DD! If I get her the loganberry they will match her sholley!
