Black or brown brogues? Help dress me for an interview...

I have an interview on Monday. Yeah for me! Went out today and bought some Brogues from Clarks and some slim cropped black trousers from Gap. Just need to get a top but I probably have something in my wardrobe that will work!

The dilemma is, I bought the black ones but DH reckons that brown would be a better colour and that I would get more wear from them!

Need some help folks what are your thoughts?

Also any thoughts on tops? My plan is to be smart but it's not a corporate setting so I won't be wearing a suit!

I would wear the black brogues to the interview. Buy the brown if you like them. I like them!

I think either would be ok. I have both but would probably wear black myself.

Hmm, depends what you wear normally. - what will you wear them with later? I tend to avoid black shoes - which does cause a dilemma whenever there's a funeral or interview - so would agree with your husband. Brown will be fine if that's what you prefer.

Thanks! I'm still more drawn to then black as an interview outfit and then hopefully a suitable shoe for everyday at work. I might also buy the brown for just kicking about in jeans.

Just found this blouse and I think it might work, it has a collar but no sleeves, with a cardi I think it should be fine. Thoughts?

Try a pic with the other shoes I like the black and white ones . I think you need to be careful with black brogues and trousers to avoid the man's work uniform look.

But I could just buy the brown tomorrow and try them both out to see which I prefer. I hadn't thought about 'mans work uniform look' yikes!

I have the black ones for work and wear them constantly! Perfect with both trousers and skirts. With jeans I'd wear brown though
