I'm starting to panic - wedding outfit for Friday!

Going to a wedding on Friday. Have had a dress planned for a good month now. Except all of a sudden it's got freezing and wintery, and I'm worried the dress will no longer work.

I'm not so much worried about being cold, it's all in one place and I can just layer up to get there. But it has got very summery colours on it and all I feel like wearing at the moment is burgundy!

It's too late to change the outfit now, isn't it? Plus I only have nude smart shoes which wouldn't even match with burgundy.

Okay, I've just panic-ordered these three on next day delivery. If they all look awful then I'm stuffed.

Could you put a pic of your original dress?
I like dress number 1 but think dress number 2 is a bit revealing for my taste. I like number 3 but I'm always concerned about wearing even a bit of white to a wedding.

I would wear number 2 with a blazer but I fear it may be too revealing too. Third one is actually cream on top...might get away with it?

This is current dress

I really like original and it has got lots of warm colours on it. Not sure where you are but we've had gorgeous sunshine all week (its been freezing until 1pm ish) but looked lovely. If it's like that I think the dress will be fine.

mewkins · 13/10/2015 11:06

Gah!! Navy

FauxFox · 13/10/2015 11:08

I like your original dress too - have you got a jacket or cardi to wear with it? If so i'm sure it will be perfect.

divere · 13/10/2015 11:18

Oh mewkins that dress is absolutely gorgeous. That would be my ideal dress. Although I'd have to have a petite if I was to wear a midi dress as my body is quite short. Otherwise it would have been perfect.

I have a nude jacket that I was going to wear with it, but it is quite a short dress on me. I'm not sure why it doesn't feel 'right'.

That navy one is very nice!

Your original dress looks flimsy and you'll be cold! No tights?! Nightmare!

divere · 13/10/2015 11:49

I'm normally a very warm person so for the event itself I think it would be fine. Bit chilly on the train at 8am to get there though!

I'll post some pics of the dresses on when they arrive tomorrow and you can help scrutinise Wink

If your concern is that you may be too cold in your original dress, I don't see how any of the dresses you have now bought will be any better, or am I missing something? Confused

divere · 13/10/2015 12:37

Being cold is not really the concern, as I can layer up to get there. It's more that the current one looks summery.

Mewkins dress is gorgeous! Can you get that one n a petite?

divere · 13/10/2015 13:41

They don't have it in petite :( I love the cowl neck on it. And the deep colour.

Mewkins dress is beautiful.

Any of these any good?

divere · 13/10/2015 20:21

That is nice mewkins, nowhere near as nice as your original one though! outcomes there are some really lovely ones on there, thanks. If the dresses coming tomorrow are no good then I will try and order a few from there. Thank god for next day delivery!

Yes I know....if inly they did it in a petite for you. I have had loads of weddings this year - typical that I find a lovely dress when there are no more to attend! Good luck on your hunt.

divere · 13/10/2015 21:24

I looked at Asos again and they have that dress is Asos Curve, Asos Tall, Asos Maternity but not bloody Asos Petite! Infuriating.

I've gone for the cream and navy. I've put a pic on my profile if anyone would like to critique!

Keep the original dress pretty please. Let me live vicariously through you, I've been lusting after it but have nowhere to wear it!

divere · 14/10/2015 21:21

tess I will wear it for my birthday in a few weeks - it will get worn!

OP posts:
TessTackle · 14/10/2015 21:24

I'm so pleased! I want it for my birthday in Feb but want to be slimmer by then so can't size guess Sad

divere · 14/10/2015 21:32

I do feel like I need to be twirling continuously when wearing it, though!
