Black Trousers?

I have a work event coming up which requires I wear a work provided white shirt with plain black trousers. The shirt will not be provided until the day of the event and I'm convinced it's going to be a poor fit. (European sizes which have been estimated on our behalf with no samples. I have been ordered a 10 but I usually have an 8, I despair!) I usually go for a skinny fit trouser, in grey or a slight pattern so having to buy plain black especially but I'm not sure if a poor fitting shirt will work with this style. I'm thinking maybe a higher waisted wider trouser so shirt can be tucked in to avoid looking like a poorly dressed school girl or waitress. Any ideas where I could find such a thing? Or something which might work better?

Boden Bistro or Chelsea trousers are amazingly flattering work trousers. Not wide leg but can definitely be worn again! Lots of stretch

Gap stovepipe skinny trouser... If black not your usual colour you might not want to spend big

Take safety pins/needle and thread to adjust waist of your shirt... or there is fashion tape to do same ( try super drug, savers, John lewis to buy)

If you can, find a dry cleaner who can do alterations on spot - they will have sewing machine and can adjust shirt in minutes - or if you have a friend who sews this is pretty easy, one step up from doing a hem.
