I've finally found tubing mascaras! Magic. Don't smudge. I use no 7 stay perfect.
No I need foundation, eyeliner and eyeshadow that don't smudge and come off after 2 hours. It's like I'm wearing no makeup as it's all come off Angry
I have oily skin and eyes. Like high coverage and am super pale.
Help! Surely others have this annoying problem.

I keep going back to Bare Minerals liquid foundation with their veil powder over the top. I've thrown away 3 different Chanel and Dior ones in the last month during a clear-out because none lasts more than an hour. Mac's primers are very good for oily skin and making the BM last.

I'm yet to find an eyeshadow that can last so will follow this thread for advice!

Sounds like you are my skin twin Wink
I am greasier than an old chip pan, so pale that I'm almost see through, and need full coverage because of old acne scars!
I discovered Lily Lolo mineral powder foundation and it's my holy grail product!
It's smudge-proof, water-proof, sweat-proof, grease-proof, and it covers almost anything.
It's mineral based, and contains natural anti-bacterial ingridients to prevent breakouts. You need the tiniest amount of product to cover your entire face and neck so a full size pot lasts me around 5/6 months Smile and at £13-something it's good value for money too!

Primers are your friend - Smashbox for your face and Nars for your eyes.

CarpetDiem · 11/10/2015 21:54

Like you OP I have an oily visage that make up evaporates off. I now swear by Revlon Colourstay foundation (oil free), smashbox powder & smashbox eyeshadows. Stays put until you take it off!

HopefulAnxiety · 11/10/2015 21:59

My friend with both oily skin and hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) swears by Revlon Colorstay foundation (there is an oily skin formulation) - and she lives in Australia so is no stranger to high temperatures. I don't know if she uses a primer but that would help too, there is one in the Colorstay range. Depending on what eyeliner you prefer, either Maybelline gel liner or Collection felt tip liner, the latter being virtually indestructible. Barry M waterproof gel pencils are good too. Best thing for eyeshadow is a really good eye primer, I think Urban Decay is still the best and you don't need much.

I am just now ageing out of this problem... lucky me (!!)

colourstay is good, i also like lancome teint miracle 24
mac mineralise powders
setting spray - urban decay (this is a step too far for me, but friends swear by)

primers - mac studio fix was good for me
you need an eyeshadow primer - urban decay by far the best, but i am trying mua which is a cheapie and seems to be doing the job. mac paint pots also work well but I was getting fed up of them drying out before i used them up

BUT: do you think skincare might calm your skin down? are you overwashing and skin pumping out oil to compensate?

itsbetterthanabox · 11/10/2015 23:52

I do use a primer. It's a revlon one.
I think I might try a different one. I have used colourstay and its ok but went clumpy around my top lip and under my eyes Confused
I've heard the urban decay primer is great for eyes. I'll try that.
Are pencil eyeliners not as good as liquid for oily eyes?
I used to use acne stripping face wash but been using the Liz hot cloth cleanser, toner and light moisturiser and my skin is much nicer. I still get some spots but it's much smoother and not so oily.

Clarins everlasting for me!

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/10/2015 00:17

Lancome tient miracle 24hr is good for staying power. I've found that using the garnier mattifying moisturiser with salicylic acid under helps too. Urban decay eyeshadow stays on me really well, Estee Lauder double wear gel liner is good. Also had success with nars pencil and with a stila waterproof one. I'm also like a human chip pan. My forehead is the worst, I now hide the bugger under a fringe

Nabootique · 12/10/2015 09:16

Agree Nars is the best thing ever for oily lids. I use that then Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream shadows and there's no creasing. Before anything I put on would have disappeared by lunch time.

Carpaccio · 12/10/2015 14:36

I like Estee Lauder Double Wear Light - it is light/medium coverage foundation. If you want more coverage, there's the original Double Wear.

For eyeshadows, I swear by cream shadows that set on the skin. I love Laura Mercier Caviar eye sticks as they look amazing, are easy to apply and last all day. Lancome have similar and they are nice too, but I find them harder to apply and blend evenly. Nars also have similar and they are good too. Chanel Illusion d'ombre and Mac Paint Pots are good too.

I use the Maybelline lasting drama gel eyeliner - it is in a pot and comes with a decent brush. It lasts really well.
