help me find winter jumpers

Tornfacedcunt · 11/10/2015 19:18

I'm needing to update my winter jumper selection and need some help!!
I'm a size 16 (32GG) and live in skinny jeans and jumpers!
Preferably light weight jumpers so as not to add to my bulk and so I can layer over vests.
Full or 3/4 sleeves.
I saw a thread with some wrap fronted styles but I can't find it now.
TIA

Lightweight merino wool at uniqlo in various colours, loose fit
Marks too
Cos for loose fitting jumpers
This is my uniform too

I was about to post looking for jumper inspiration too! Something a bit stylish and/or with colour would be nice. I often like French connection shapes but their stuff doesn't wash brilliantly.

i turned oxford street upside down 2 weeks ago looking for a simple black jumper... 4 hours later, I came home with just 1 - this one

www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Mint+Velvet+Black+Sheer+Skinny+Knit/227855648,default,pd.html

its v nice, & flattering on my similar dress/bust size, but £60 for a black jumper is ridiculous!

very few wrap fronts in - try M&S
John Lewis knits - huge range this year

busty - need to be slim fitting on body, a deep band of ribbing or seams to pull in would help

there are lots of baggy shapeless numbers out there

I have been going for a done up cardi over a thin long sleeve as a jumper alternative - its more form fitting & the button line gives a flattering vertical line - reccommend the house of fraser merino cardis for that, they have a nice level of ribbing which pulls you in

i undo top 2 buttons = v neck

Looks great.

I really feel the cold so I dread winter. In summer I throw on a dress and am done, in winter I often have to change clothes to get warmer as I have bad circulation in my hands and feet.

Am prob going to get a cashmere crew neck from pure.

But I need more variety and good quality!

For the biggest selection of styles and colours you'll ever find, look at Woolovers. Not cutting edge fashion, but decent quality and well priced.

pdxs · 11/10/2015 22:01

i dread the cold too! try uniqlo heattech tops as layers...?

Tornfacedcunt · 12/10/2015 00:30

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll get looking.
I too trawled the high street but found everything to be a bit loose fitting and left me looking like a sack of spuds. I had a brilliant jumper from new look but I only ever found the one colour and I caught it on something and ripped it Angry
I'd like it to be a bit different too, I'm 32 but sometimes feel jumpers etc make me look/feel ancient!

Agree with Uniqlo - the merino wool jumpers and heattech (the regular and the fleece) were my uniform last Winter!

Notoedike · 12/10/2015 07:17

Uniqlo cashmere, merino and heattech are my winter staples.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 12/10/2015 09:35

Esprit have a good selection of jumpers in at the moment and I find their stuff good quality - lasts ages!

Honesttodog · 20/10/2015 09:37

found a nice one at TK MAXX the other day, But only after trying on about nine other jumpers!
