Good cheap handcream?

I work in a supermarket kitchen - I have to wash my hands a lot - at least 2/3 times an hour and my skin is paying the price. It's really dry and my hands sting when I get grease or food on them accidentally.

Can anyone recommend a cheap handcream that I can use several times a day? I can't use any special soap at work, it has to be the stuff they provide which seems to make it worse.

TIA Smile

Neutrogena Norwegian formula is less than a fiver and brilliant IMO.

Atrixo

ShatnersBassoon · 11/10/2015 15:25

Lotil is fantastic. My hands used to get so dry they split bled in winter, but Lotil has massively improved the look and feel of my hands.

Split and bled!

I've never heard of Lotil or Atrixo - are they available in Boots or similar?

I use Aveeno, it's fantastic and i have really sensitive skin.

Knackeredknitter67 · 11/10/2015 15:33

I use Aveeno too, but also use Argan oil at night on my hands and has made a huge difference

BikeRunSki · 11/10/2015 15:47

Atrixo is cheap and cheerful and available all over the place. Definitely Boots.

Sainsburys Vit E hand cream is very good.

Are you near an Aldi? I don't know about Aldi in the UK but here in Germany they do a hand cream and a foot cream both of which contain urea. I get very dry hands so use the foot cream on my hands - I really rate it. And it doesn't cost ££££.

Jodiemacdonald31 · 11/10/2015 16:00

Locittane or soap & glory

Cheesymonster · 11/10/2015 16:06

The Aldi Lacura one is great and it's 75p. I use the white tube one.

franke · 11/10/2015 16:50

Here's the one Cheesymonster recommended. They don't have my hand or foot cream in Aldi UK.

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/10/2015 16:55

Loccitaine is not cheap!
I like the Neutragena Norwegian too, I bung it on my Tesco order.

TheBunnyOfDoom · 11/10/2015 17:23

Thanks guys - I'll definitely look in Aldi, I only work around the corner.

My hands are the same, im a nursery nurse so im always washing them plus i have exzema. The only thing that helps is the body shop hemp hand cream.

greenhill · 11/10/2015 17:44

Use Norwegian formula during the day, then just before you go to sleep use body shop hemp hand cream, your hands will feel wonderful afterwards, but some people don't like the smell.

Have hand cream in your coat pocket or in the pocket of the car door, so you get into the habit of using it regularly.

Notoedike · 11/10/2015 17:48

Aveeno here too.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/10/2015 18:04

Aldi do a fab one for 75p

Sallystyle · 11/10/2015 18:17

I have loads of hand creams as I am obsessed with them.

The best cheapest one is definitely the aldi one. It's great.

I love Lush Lemony flutter, which is a cuticle cream but I use it all over, it isn't that cheap but you only need a tiny bit. I also use their Handy Gurugu, which again isn't that cheap but it does last for a very long time. Both are a bit greasy for a few minutes after applying though.

You can't go wrong with the ones from aldi.
