Ghds- are they still the best?

So my last ghds were fab and lasted for 10 years then broke at the beginning of this year. I have very thich coarse hair and they always managed to make it look great without ever damaging it. So when they broke I did a bit of research and thought is try Remington ones at a fraction of the price. They have really damaged my hair on the high setting and don't seem to straighten as well on the lower setting (180).

So I'm wondering if I need to
Ditch these and get a new set of ghds. Are they still the best? Are they as good as they used to be? My last ones were the wide plate ones- are these the best?

No, try cloud 9's.

I have new GHDs and they are crap. They snag my hair and they are nothing like the old ones.

I believe the original makers of the GHDs now makes the cloud 9's.

Thanks. I've never heard of them. Do you know anywhere you can actually try them before buying them?
