I'd like to try a mineral foundation like bareMinerals, but there are a lot out there. Any recommendations please?

I love Laura Geller Balance n Brighten, it evens out my skintone brilliantly and it really does brighten. Lily Lolo is great value and you can order a tester sample to make sure it works for you.

I absolutely love Bare Minerals. I'd definitely recommend it

I like the coverage that Bare Minerals gives, but I hate hate hate the mess and faff of all that tapping, buffing, etc. Doesn't help that I tend to put on my make-up on the train

RascarCapac · 07/10/2015 22:23

I've got the new bare minerals foundation (complexion rescue) which doesn't need to be faffed on and it is brilliant - I've actually ditched my bobbi brown tinted moisturiser in favour of it. You need to get the brush as well, but it is v straightforward.

I tried Bare Minerals a few years ago but found it too cakey, and I got spots. Is the new one better?

PurpleBurtle · 07/10/2015 23:14

I use lily lolo I decided against bare minerals as it contains bismuth which can be an irritant for some people.
I order online and have never had a problem with them.

I'm just about to start using Lilylolo. I used to use ELF but they stopped doing their mineral range. I liked that with Lilylolo I could order samples, and found it gives good coverage. I like mineral foundation as many liquids just don't sit right on my skin.

ExAstris · 08/10/2015 11:01

Thanks, I think I'll try Lily Lolo as I'm not sure what shade my skin colour is so samples would be good.

I like Aveda , Clarins Skin Illusion Loose Powder Foundation, No7 Mineral Perfection Powder Foundation

I had a sample of Bare Minerals and I also have an Avon one which has good reviews - I loved the way it felt on my face (ie really light), but every time I looked in the mirror I was shocked at how badly my (fine) wrinkles were exaggerated, honestly I looked ten years older. Is it just me?

Muddlewitch · 08/10/2015 14:05

No that was what I found too penguin, it gathered in all the places I wanted it to cover up!
