Am I too old for these boots?

These

I'm 49 in a couple of weeks and have no dress sense I'm not 'trendy' or 'cool' in any way. I am a practical dresser for the most part and these certainly seem practical, but would I get away with them, or would I look like I'm trying to look 'down with the kids' as my DP says? Grin

Please, pull no punches and tell me the truth

Nice boots. I would wear them with jeans. I am 45 Grin .
My favourite boots are my DM's.... which my daughter sighs at but I have been wearing DM's since I was younger than she is now... so she is simply envious of my trendsetting style or something like that

They look like quite sensible boots to me!

fluffywol · 07/10/2015 17:33

Ooh, thank you, I now feel entirely justified in buying them! And if DP queries my choice, I shall tell him they're MN Approved Wink

No you are not, I am 52 and love clumsy chelsea boots. I've just bought a pair of wine coloured brochures with same type of sole from to max. They are fab I'm goin to wear with skinny jeans and wool skirts and dresses.

Dowser · 07/10/2015 17:42

I'm in my 60s . I think I'm too young for them!

I'm not Into clumpy footwear though.

If you like them and that's what you want to wear, then go for it.

LIZS · 07/10/2015 17:44

I like , hadn't thought of Esprit for boots so off to have a look.

Orangeanddemons · 07/10/2015 17:45

I'm 52, I'd wear them too.

Trouble is I wore soles like that in the 80s and then in the 90s too

Merguez · 07/10/2015 18:00

51 and I would wear them.

fluffywol · 07/10/2015 18:40

I've ordered them. DP just rolled his eyes when I showed him.

Thanks for the responses Smile

I have similar boots. I'm 54.

Iamabuyingbootsaddict · 08/10/2015 07:29

Laughing at your DP rolling his eyes. I bought similar chunky boots recently after checking on MN that I wasn't too old for them. DP looked at them and said "are they for gardening in?"!! Despite this I love them (and him). Enjoy your boots.

ItGoesWithoutSaying · 08/10/2015 08:40

Mid 40s, I'd wear them. Recently bought some very clumpy burgundy chelsea boots which I love.

Like petra still wearing Dr Martens. My teenage DD has also acquired a pair which led me to feel a bit Confused to start with. But then thought, Sod it, I was wearing them first!

Iusedtobeapenguin · 08/10/2015 11:43

They are nice boots but I wouldn't wear them. I have big feet and slim-ish legs with v skinny ankles so chunky boots make me look like Max Wall.

EmmaWoodlouse · 08/10/2015 20:18

I am 40 and I don't consider them age-inappropriate, although they're not quite my cup of tea.

EmmaWoodlouse · 08/10/2015 20:18

Sorry, I'm 49! Typo, not denial!
