I checked Mint Velvet but they just seemed to have tie back jumpers not button back

I've definitely seen one on Mint Velvet. Try Oliver Bonas as they had a couple last year.

My mum claims that exactly what a lot of women did do in the 50's. It's not going to work with every cardy but it certainly would with a lot.

We did it in the 80s too. I bought a v neck one that I wore back to front, got loads of compliments on it.
