I should not have bought this dress!

Ok, it's from Tesco, but the fabric looked ok for the price and I used to have this lovely stripy Jersey dress from French Connection that I wore until it actually fell apart, and I thought this would be it.

Did i try it on? NO I DID NOT or I would have realised it is lovely and fitted until the nipples, at which point it inexplicably begins billowing, and does not stop billowing until at the oh-so-flattering length of about an inch below the knee.

Ye gods. I took the fucking tags off too. I'll brazen it out for a refund or something - It might make someone a nice maternity dress if not.

Oh dear. At least it didn't break the bank

EmmaWoodlouse · 06/10/2015 10:35

It looks so nice in the picture - I don't suppose it would look better with a belt, would it? Maybe a red one?

squoosh · 06/10/2015 11:13

Is there any way you can stick a sneaky stitch on either side to create a waist and contain the billowyness?

BrianButterfield · 06/10/2015 13:35

I can't see how a belt would work - it would look a bit sack-like. If you look at the catwalk video you can see how unflattering it is on the model even!

It's a pity because the sleeves and top part are just right. Maybe I could take it is along the seams all the way down, I don't know.

Hah! I guessed it would be this one! I bought it because I actually am pregnant. I've had to put it away until I get a bigger bump though as I don't want to look that big yet!

BrianButterfield · 06/10/2015 14:21

It's truly massive, isn't it! And a funny cut - not like a proper swing dress cut.
