Help - Need outfit ideas please.

We're heading into London next weekend and I need to get an outfit. I'm told that we'll be going to some posh burger place for late lunch. May stay in London for the evening or travel back and continue the celebrations locally. I have no idea what to wear! I can do daytime casual or evening party but this seems to cross over both. I have no idea how much we'll be walking - if we'll be on the tube or taxi's so no idea how warm or cold I'm likely to get (usually a big factor in choosing an outfit for me)
Add to this I'm feeling pretty fat and frumpy at the moment!

I need a classy and classic outfit for daytime, that can equally do for an evening out without being too party ish. Anyone got any ideas?

great fitting jeans and your favourite tops will cover day and evening wear. Now what do you have for a topper and feet ?

I don't currently have any great fitting jeans.....I have lots of jeans but I'm too fat for them all at the moment! I'm not into anything in my wardrobe - I'm quite a plain dresser so everything I have is plain vest tops, tshirts, jumpers. If I go out I usually wear a party dress so don't really have any party tops. i have a couple of blouses but they are pretty rubbish.

If you are happy to wear shortish this gap dress is super flattering (it's not quite as short in real life I am 5'7 and it's only 2 or 3 inches above the knee). I'd wear it with black opaque tights and biker boots and a denim or leather jacket, big soft scarf like this star one. Short rouge-noir nails and take extra make up and some blingy earrings to dress it up for evening
