Seeking a structured tartan/check dress

I came across this one www.collectif.co.uk/collectif-mainline-dolores-tai-tartan-doll-dress-p-aw150808a-c-blue_sl_-red.html and www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Smart-Day-Dresses/WH934/Womens-Winter-Pocket-Shift.html
I really love this one www.toa.st/uk/product/new+late+autumn/C1EDB/Check+Dress.htm?categoryref=%2fcategory.aspx%3fcategoryid%3dnew%2520late%2520autumn%26seoterm%3dlate%2520autumn%26&pcat=new+late+autumn&adimage=&clr=C1EDB_Multi
Which one would I get the most wear out of? (Think the Boden one is over priced for what it is, but hoping it will go in the sale on Monday)

I like then toast one and the first one best.

I love the toast one, it is gorgeous and unique and looks beautifully cut. But if you want to be really subtle it's probably not the best.

justasecond · 04/10/2015 14:12

I really love the toast one beautiful colour and style although the styling with those shoes is not flattering even on the model. Not keen on the others I'm afraid

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2015 16:58

Hate the first. Dislike the Boden. Like the Toast one but soooooo expensive.

Saw a gorgeous one in John Lewis the other day, but can't remember which brand it was. Useless.

Passmethecrisps · 04/10/2015 17:02

Laura Ashley have loads of tartan/tweed/check dresses in at the moment. Not sure if they would float your boat but worth a look.

As for those you have picked out I think the first one looks a bit like fancy dress. The Boden one is nice as a work a day dress. THe toast one is nice it terribly expensive

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2015 17:03

It might have been this but it looked nicer irl.

Passmethecrisps · 04/10/2015 17:05

I love that one. Quite tempted myself actually!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2015 17:07

Hobbs Horrible colour though.

Passmethecrisps · 04/10/2015 17:10

There is this as one example from Laura Ashley.

There are lots of shift dresses as well

Knackeredknitter67 · 04/10/2015 17:23

I've ordered the Toast one, in 10 and 12, the bust seems a little snug on the model. I quite like most of the ones linked to, but they're not quite as nice as the Toast one. Feel quite excited about it Grin

Nice one knackered.

If you love it then you will never find anything. Which compares. I hope it matches your expectations!

Twinklestein · 04/10/2015 17:41

I think they're all ghastly, although I like the idea in principle.

The Toast is particularly vile - it looks like upholstery material and will be very unflattering. And what are those boots?

I'm sure you can find a nice one somewhere.

Twinklestein · 04/10/2015 17:45

Oh - just read the update - sorry!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2015 18:17

Agree that the boots in the Toast pic are utterly ridiculous.

Knackeredknitter67 · 04/10/2015 18:33

Haha, at upholstery!
I have the boots, but wouldn't wear with that dress, although I'm a bit uncouth and would probably wear DM's
