Which Aldi serum do I need?

The Lacura serum gets a lot of love here, and I have totally bought into the hype, but which one is the one? I am mid-30s, not ever used a serum before, massive pores and bumpy forehead, otherwise decent if sensitive skin. I have seen Aqua-complete, Anti-ageing and Revital in the range.

(And I can't get them all to try because the Aldi near me doesn't stock any, and the person picking one up for me may not accept payment, so I don't dare to ask for several.)

I have the Soy one but only use it on my neck as it is too heavily perfumed for my face.I am erm.... a more mature woman . Maybe someone will be along with more info.

I have the Soy (mature) bought a couple of weeks ago (I'm mature too Grin ) it does have a smell, reminds me of Immac Confused

and the H20 one which I've had a while.

I find they sting my eyes so I need to apply carefully (worse is when I have a 'flush' and my face perspires)

If you are on the lookout for something new, they have a Caviare range on Sunday (looks very like the Prairie packaging)

I bought the Waitrose Pure face oil (half price) nice and light.

Get the Body Shop vit E overnight serum in oil. Little pink bottle with a dropper.I prefer it to the Clarins.Divine smell and leaves your skin baby soft in the morning.

Caviar range apparently sold out in 30 minutes in my local aldi
Grrr

Wolpertinger · 04/10/2015 15:33

Massive pores, bumpy forehead - your top priority should be a salicylic acid toner NOT a serum.

DoingTheBestICan · 04/10/2015 20:13

I got myself the caviar one today and it was like a scrum, I swear I have never seen so many women crowding round something. This was opening at 10am and they had all gone by 20 past.

herecomesthsun · 04/10/2015 20:43

Do you think there will be more in?

DoingTheBestICan · 04/10/2015 21:23

Yes I think they'll restock quite quickly. I have to say it feels quite thick but it does not feel sticky or greasy. I quite like it.

jingscrivvens · 05/10/2015 09:51

I use this one - serum

I'm mid 30s and use it night, it's not too heavy, other ones have brought me out in cystic spots. That said it does smell a bit like Mr. Sheen!

Peregrane · 06/10/2015 15:29

Thank you for the input on the serum! Wolpertinger thank you for that as well. It somehow feels more work to incorporate a salicylic toner into my routine than a serum (dead knackered by the evening, have to rush to get everything done by DS's bedtime, and I usually fall asleep myself by the time he nods off). But that is probably in my head. Do you have any recommendations for a brand to try? I'll also search the forums.

Nip + Fab dragons blood pads are great and dead easy to use. They are £10 for a tub of 55 (I think) and I couldn't afford them this month so I've just swapped to Olay anti wrinkle toner which is about £3.

Wolpertinger · 06/10/2015 16:07

Nip + Fab dragon's blood pads, Clearasil pads, Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion, Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel/lotion/liquid.

Gives a range of brands, products and price brackets. TBH Paula's Choice is the one to beat.

Wineoclock81 · 06/10/2020 18:14

The Q10 serum is my new fave and costs a whopping £22 less than the Avon version.

emilybrontescorsett · 06/10/2020 18:26

Has anyone used the serum in the pink box? I think it's about £3.99

DaintyElephant · 06/10/2020 20:27

I really like the Q10 serum. I find the Soy one too greasy.

The caviar night cream is great, too!
