What kind of bag do you use and does it go over or under?

If you must have a bag and can't get by with making your DH/DP a pack horse, capes look best with a bag you carry by the handle with a straight arm down.

I agree - a bag that you hold with your hand, not your shoulder.

Incidently, when are you going?
A friend of mine just posted a picture on facebook in NYC. Shes wearing shorts and a tee shirt. It looks pretty warm.

You'll probably feel vastly overdressed. I lived there for many years, It's mostly a fairly practically dressing and casual city as people walk a lot and you can get very strong thunderstorms and rains. My most worn fall/winter outfit was a waterproof mac and a pair of sneakers. I've worn a poncho for a couple of years but it is not practical, a clutch does not leave your hands free and you can carry very little in a top handle bag. Anything with a shoulder strap is awkward.

Thanks I won't bother. They just look so nice to hide under!

a great leather jacket will fit in.

I'm in NYC right now and it's baking!! Definitely shorts and t-shirt and sandals weather! So humid!

EachandEveryone · 01/10/2015 05:00

I'm hoping for crisp autumn weather by the end of the month!

This is probably a no-no, but I usually wear an across-body bag under my cape. Need to be hands-free!
