Clothing for Country Walks in Winter

Since purchasing one of the off road prams, myself partner and baby have been visiting the country for walks. As the weather gets colder we are wondering what is best to dress her in. She is 1 year old in November, is it safest to get another snow suit and use one of those or are trousers, t shirt, cardigan and coat better for overall comfort? Do any of the walking clothing brands do clothes for one year olds?

At the moment as it isn't too cold, I'd definitely do layers over a snowsuit but when it gets really cold, snowsuits are brilliant as no matter how much they wriggle and move around you know they are going to be really snug and war. With coats I find the longer styles, which keep their legs and bottom warm, are tricky for little ones to move around in and they don't have the same issue with snowsuits. I would however with layers, avoid cotton as it holds in moisture, so I'd choose breathable fabrics and fleeces - merino is great. I'd also try ski shops as they do really good base layers and fleeces if you don't have any luck with regular walking brands. I know Kozi Kidz do lots of outdoor wear for kids. We sell snowsuits - so do take a look www.halfpintchic.com. Hope that helps!
