Me again! Tried the eyeliner recommendations for my impending nuptials, brilliant, your all marvellous!
Now I just need a primer for my face and a brilliant under eye concealer. Bourjois any good? I do like their foundations but wasn't sure. Any quick advice gratefully received, I'm off shopping soon Smile

Primer: what is your skin type?

Best drugstore under eye concealer is the Collection 2000 one but you'll struggle to find shades in store as it's almost always sold out.

Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer is pretty good.

You can also get decent concealers from Rimmel, Maybelline, L'Oreal

MUA (brand at Superdrug) do a great concealer palette which has 4 colours for correcting/concealing different discolouration/blemishes.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 29/09/2015 11:09

Collection 2000 is brill, but be aware it's like Touche Eclat in the sense it reflects light so blurs lines and shadows rather than being a traditional concealer. It's always fun to spot a reverse panda who has slapped the TE under their eyes!
The best rated traditional concealer is the Rimmel one, they've been doing it for decades. I looked at the palettes (similar to the Bobbi Brown concealer palette thingies in Superdrug but got the Rimmel in the end. i use Collection at the outer corners as a highlighter.

i think concealer is worth spending on... i like Bobbi brown corrector (1 product) then concealer (its a cream then a powder)...

otherwise, hydrate by drinking water & using an eye cream

and also moisturise face, then wait a while before applying makeup, and be sure to sweep any stray eyeshadow away

Liomsa · 29/09/2015 11:12

Touché Eclat makes me look like a mad panda. I have naturally dark under-eye circles and the best concealer I've ever found is a specific Bobbi Brown one you pat on with a finger and that has its own powder to set it.

BowiesJumper · 29/09/2015 11:14

I love the Laura Mercier one as I have really dark purple smudges under my eyes. You only need the teeeeeeniest bit, so it lasts ages, even though it's expensive.

I would try a few out in a department store and see what you like.

For primers, it does really depend on your skin type. I like the porefessional one from benefit but it depends what you want it to do.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 29/09/2015 11:17

Primer- best I have used is the Avon one.

NotTodaySatan · 29/09/2015 11:18

The Collection concealer that I'm talking about (Lasting Perfection) is nothing like Touche Éclat.

It's a slightly thick matte concealer with zero light reflection that covers dark circles brilliantly.

Touche Éclat is a highlighting pen that covers nothing, just brightens which is why it should only be used under the eyes if you have amazing skin.

burnishedsilver · 29/09/2015 11:45

The only concealer that works for me (I've tried many including everything Ive ever seen recommended here) is L'Oréal touch magique. The worst are touch eclat (not really a concealer anyway) and Rimmel wake up concealer (wake up my arse, it made me look sleep deprived).

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 29/09/2015 12:03

Oh right Satan, no I meant the Touche Eclat wannabe pen thingy. It's very nice, just not as an undereye concealer. I've not tried their 'proper' concealer.

ilovetosleep · 29/09/2015 12:33

I have that 2000 TE wannabe. Clearly it's no good for dark circles, what am I supposed to use it for? I do have dark under eyes btw. Thanks!

NotTodaySatan · 29/09/2015 12:33

I suspected we were talking about different products Smile.

Try the full on one, it's seriously good!

123Jump · 29/09/2015 13:10

I thought Touche Eclat was a brightener,not a concealer?
I have the Bobbi Brown and the Laura Mercier one recommended above. Both very good.
Love, love, love the Make up Atelier Primer.

CremeBrulee · 29/09/2015 13:14

Estée Lauder doublewear concealer is the only concealer I have found that truly masks the dark rings under my eye/eye socket area.

Go and ask the counter staff to do a trial on you and see what you think.

sonata1 · 29/09/2015 14:58

I use Collection concealer with Max Factor yellow colour corrector pen ontop.

Cerseirys · 29/09/2015 15:11

I like Mac's Pro Longwear concealer as it doesn't budge. But what's really made a difference to me is applying the concealer using the baking technique. Have a Google of it, it's life changing and makes me look like I've had 20 hours sleep!

Cerseirys · 29/09/2015 15:13

Ah just seen you want this for wedding makeup. Avoid anything with light reflecting particles like Touche Eclat as flash photography will give you terrible reverse panda eyes.

Lndnmummy · 29/09/2015 19:48

Clarins!
