I need new tops for wearing for a night in the pub/going out for a curry. Need sleeves and need to go with black skinny jeans. Must be cotton or cotton/silk mix - maybe a shirt? Must be not at all glitzy and absolutely no polyester, sequins or shit.

All I wear at the moment is skinnies and a white cotton shirt or black silk shirt - there must be more to life, before it's full-on jumper weather!

Thanks in advance, oh lovely style folk.

NOBODY???? What IS this place coming to?

^Flounces^

Oh don't flounce Remus! Come back! It's just that the high st is full of sequins and shit for going out tops. Bit like the twigs and pebbly shit of home decor. Grin

Would viscose in navy and a bit of lace be any good? Zara is the only shop I've been in lately.

lurkingabit · 26/09/2015 22:48

It was full of high neck Victorian-trying-to-be stuff, high frilly necks and things.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/09/2015 22:51

Thank you - link not working. No to viscose. Love a bit of Victoriana but prob too dressy anyway. Am thinking super-casual but nice. That I can wear Converse or boots with - absolutely not dressy at all.

Any particular colour? Zara have loads of that Victorians style, have a peek. Lots of viscose and polyester though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/09/2015 23:09

Not fond of Zara generally tbh. Poor quality and jumble sale-ish.

what about a silk shirt in another colour. Pure have lots of shades, the grey or lavender would go with black.

pure

Lucked · 27/09/2015 01:32

This top from la redoute is an 80/20 mix. I like the pinky red but the green would also go with black.

la redoute

Littlepinkpear · 27/09/2015 08:48

Hey Remus, any colours in mind? Or would you prefer dark tones?

What's your budget?

My default at the moment is Cos, Hobbs and Oliver Bonas. Cos had lots of lovely things in yesterday.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/09/2015 14:57

Thank you. Pure ones lovely but above my budget. I'd like a couple, so no more than £50 each. Not fond of the La R one - too peasanty.

Grey would be good, or a deep red maybe. Or a printed shirt? I like this but green looks awful on me.

Have looked in Cos but the colours aren't exciting me.

How about this ?

www.crewclothing.co.uk/elsa-shirt-wdb051-peach/

Available in Peach / Teal or Navy. I know it's a over budget but AUTNEW gives £15 off.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/09/2015 16:16

Thank you, but don't like the neck on that - it's like it can't decide if it wants to be a shirt or a blouse.

Sorry.

What about these? I really liked them when I was in the store yesterday.

Darn it!!!

You and I have the same high ambitions for things in cotton or silk as standard Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/09/2015 17:02

I might just have to buy a denim shirt - at least they are usually cotton!

BrendaandEddie · 27/09/2015 17:09

okus your cotton thing makes you sound a bit Amish!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/09/2015 17:17

I'm going to check out the Gap ones - silk/cotton mix is my absolute favourite, and I love the look of the bright pink.

I've pretty much lived in this all summer, and basically want a winter equivalent!

I really like this, but I know Superdry doesn't get much love on here.
