Next kids sizing

Apologies for posting this in S&B, I couldn't see anywhere better.

My 3.5 yo s 104 cm and starting to grow out of his 3-4 yo clothes. Next have both dual and single sized clothes for his age. So 4-5 (104cm-110cm) as well as 4(104cm) and 5(110cm).

Does anyone know how the length compares? Is the length of a four between a 3-4 and 4-5 or exactly the same as one and if so which one.

An age 4 seems to have the same sizing as 3-4 so a 5 would be 4-5

Thanks that is what I suspected but it didn't seem right to buy him age 5 when he is only 3. We are going to have that awkward stage where everything is either a little to small or slightly big on him.
