Jeans advice for the clueless

All these different shapes of jeans in the shops, what would you wear on your feet with the different shapes of jeans? I'm stuck for inspiration and wondered what looks 'right' with the different shapes?

That is a very clumsy sentence, sorry!

Personally I would wear skinnies with ankle or long boots, and a straight/slim cut with converse/flat pumps etc. Think it's also to do with the proportion of your legs - Im bottom heavy with quite chunky legs & ankles and a skinny with a shoe looks weird on me, I need the little bit of flap/ruching you get with a straight around the ankle to balance everything out!

Depend on your shape, style and what you feel comfortable in - sorry, I know thats more confusing than helpful advice! Grin.

I'm tall and a slight inverted triangle shape, and I suit straight or slim jeans. I wear slim jeans with ankle or tall boots, straight jeans for more casual wear, with Converse.

Proper skinny jeans are awful on me (I'm top heavy, so look like tits on a stick in them). Bootcut or flares look very odd, too. Boyfriend jeans do my arse no favours.

Could you go into a proper jeans shop with a selection of styles and try loads on? I did that in the Levi shop a couple of years ago and once for all identified what suits me / I like, and what looks crap. I only buy the shape of jeans that suits me now. I also worked out that different shades of blue jean look better on me than others. Very dark blue jeans don't flatter me at all. So the 'big try on', as dull as it was, was really helpful from that angle, too.
