Wedding Dress Help

My friend is getting married in May and hasn't been shopping for her wedding dress yet. I know the bridesmaid is a bit worried about this and thinks she should get on it soon. The bride is a larger woman (maybe a size 26) so it's going to be a challenge in that sample sizes won't fit. The bridesmaid and I both think the bride is not addressing this because she's worried about looking awful. She's a very pretty woman but has always been a bit funny about having her photo taken.

Where might she get a frock?
Should she have one made?
What styles would be good?
How do we make the bride feel better about this?

What is her budget? If she can stretch to it she should look at this site www.uptight-clothing.co.uk.

Janice (the owner/designer) is amazing, she made my dress and not only did it fit like a glove and made me look incredible,it is a work of art. She prefers dressing larger women and I reckon she would make the whole process really enjoyable for your friend.

There are plenty of plus size bridal shops dotted around that stock sample sizes in her size and dresses specifically made for plus size brides by standard dress makers so she won't feel uncomfortable and the ladies in the shop are usually plus size too. My dress was a size 20 (you usually get it a size bigger than your high street size) and I went to a plus size shop so I could try samples. Quite a few have a large selection of off the rack dresses too!
