I know the evidence is a bit sketchy - but do any of you take them and if so have you noticed a difference with them?

A friend takes them and swears by them, but they are £££ ones and I can't quite bring myself to stump up!

Ooh interesting thanks. When you say £££ do you have a ball park figure?

why on earth would there be a difference with them?
you ingest them
collagen's a protein which is all broken down in your stomach if you eat it.
best thing you can do for collagen concerns is to take safe dose of vitamin C, which is an essential cofactor for collagen synthesis.B

Collagen pills are bogus, my cousin is a cosmetic scientist and she explained it to me when I asked about them and perhaps if you are totally deficent in amino acids they might have some benefit its very hard not to get enough protien. As leghoul says it all gets broken down to its basic parts in you digestive system anyway and then reused and not always in your facial skin, only a small fraction will get there. Eat you 10 fresh fruit & veg a day, drink green tea, take vitamin c or a multi vitamin as above as well as some healthy protein daily this will help way more then a tablet. There is no magic bullet.
