Where is the best place to buy these, please? Not Next. They only go up to a small 9.

Perhaps we should set up a petition and send it to the Shoe Board or whatever association there is for shoe retailers.

We should ask them to provide their women's ranges up to size 12 (or more?) and in a variety of fittings.

But you d get the standard reply I m sure "There s no call for them!"

I recently bought a pair of Pavers instore - choice of one pair only, which I took. The assistant said "If you like those then, I can order you some similar." She was aghast when I said "No, I don't like them, I actually hate them, but its the only option you have!" She said she couldn't comprehend how it must feel to buy shoes you don't actually like! I think of all the shoes I own (which isn't many) there isn't one pair I bought because I like, I just bought them because they fit and served a purpose!

If you do accidentally buy the Hush Puppies Vivianna they are absolutely beautiful in the flesh. And very comfortable too according to DD. I wouldn't know about their comfort but am very Envy of DD!

They are available from loads of sources for less than on the official HP site, but I couldn't find the wide version anywhere else. You get 10% off if you sign up for their newsletter.

Anyone ordered from Zalando?

www.zalando.co.uk/womens-shoes/

I'd never heard of them until a couple of weeks ago when I was searching for a specific brand of ski wear. I've just ordered a couple of size 9s from them and will report back when they've arrived. Fingers crossed.

I wear a UK size 11 and finding shoes is the bane of my existence. I can fit into an Evans 10EEE, but the quality and range are awful and the larger sizes tend to go quickly. Long Tall Sally is another good suggestion but again, poor quality shoes. They do boots though and a good cobbler will help you prolong the life of their shoes. If I am really caught short, I order size 13 shoes from American eBay. You can only really do this if you are sure what size you are in American brands.

Another last resort is having shoes made from Shoes of Prey, it is very, very pricey (£180+) and they only do flats, heels, ankle boots and Oxfords.

Pupsiecola · 30/11/2015 12:33

I have ordered a pair from Shoes of Prey before Lucia but had to send them back as they didn't fit very well. I was impressed overall with them, but I have quite slim feet and most manufacturers seems to think if your feet are long they must also be wide. They are expensive, as you say.

I've actually just lost a couple of stones, and I am sure my feet have gone down a half size :-)

I'm currently wearing shoes from Evans - which I mention as I'd never thought of buying shoes from them before. They look good and are INSANELY COMFORTABLE and were cheaper than almost everything else I was looking at. They do have some awful boats on offer, but they do have nice stuff too.

LittleCandle · 30/11/2015 15:55

Simply be do 9EEE size shoes and boots and the boots come in different calf sizes, too.

allnewdiamonddealer · 30/11/2015 16:09

TK Maxx have some shoes in a size 9 and size 10.

MrsLogicFromViz · 30/11/2015 16:19

I'm a 9/43 and get my shoes from Doc Marten/Clarks/Birkenstock. Agree that Next 9 is too small and my toes get crushed :) Asda's 9 is a 43, but the shoes are mostly synthetic.

Don't get me started on the 42/9 thing. Arggggh.

miniswin · 30/11/2015 16:41

Another recommendation for Ted and Muffy, not sure what you're looking for, but everything I've had from there in both it's current and previous incarnation (Duo) has been brilliant, and is still going strong. They have 40% off until the end of today - code is CYBER40. I'm the first to admit that they're pricey as hell, but they do good sales and the 9 is a proper 9 in most styles (even though it's called a 42!), and they do go up to a 10 in some styles. They are also calf-fitted which is handy.

amarmai · 30/11/2015 17:25

some styles are identical for wo/men e.g, chelsea, brogues, some slip ons ans some sneakers etc. the men's are wider and often cheaper.

sjane03 · 30/11/2015 17:27

Diechmann do both size 9 and 10 cheap but some good bits.
