UK Size 18/20 High End Parka - does such a thing exist?

srtajuanita · 23/09/2015 09:37

I've decided to invest in a North Face or Canadian Goose Parka, ideally with a fur trim (faux is fine). The size guides for both seem to stop around a UK 16 - does anyone know if they go bigger, or am I better off with another brand?

Thank you

North Face XL is equal to size 18 according to the size guide on here lots of choice

Thank you Foxy - might be worth a go!

Didrikson Angelina go up to 22. I tried the 18 but was a bit tight around my bum so I'm going for the size up. It's a lovely coat!

I got it here, more sizes coming in next week - www.lawskirkcudbright.co.uk/index.php?option=com_opencart&view=home&Itemid=13

They also send special delivery so mine arrived day after ordering.

north face and canada goose down filled are designed for -40 degree weather . You might be a bit hot espec on transit.

BigGreenOlives · 24/09/2015 17:48

Canada Goose have a wide range so pick carefully, they have one which is more shaped than the giant parka style and another which is much thinner. They have them in Harrods if you can get there to try them on & then you could always order from somewhere else if there is a price difference.

Aren't they too hot for UK weather??

I wore my friends when I went home to Canada and I was sweltering there !

srtajuanita · 26/09/2015 09:23

Interested that they might be too hot. Hmmmm ..... Actually I think I need waterproof rather than insulated. May need a rethink Flowers

wrap goes up to size 22 but a bit spendy

Depends on your internal thermostat. I live in London and wear my North Face Arctic Parka every weekend of every year from November to February, (though not to work so never on a rush hour tube). I've never regretted buying it, although I do also have an uninsulated waterproof one which I wear for the rest of the year, with a fleece underneath it in autumn and spring.

I have a Didrikson , I'm short and fairly small , I found the sizing small ..

BeyondYourPeripheralVision · 26/09/2015 09:37

Luhtfa? Luhta? A Finnish brand - v spendy, big sizes, superior quality.

Jaeme · 27/09/2015 16:58

Eddie Bauer do nice parkas. American brand but I think they ship to the UK and there's a few places you can buy it here

tshirtsuntan · 27/09/2015 17:06

I got a lovely parka from asos curve last year. I had a north face puffs jacket a few years back and it was too warm for me (even in Austria in December!)

amarmai · 27/09/2015 21:13

Eddie Bauer is too hot for Canada never mind uk. I have 1 and never wear it unless we get cold weather alerts.

Jaeme · 28/09/2015 14:12

I bought the westbridge parka from Eddie Bauer and it's been just right for here - it's not down filled though.
