Taking Yasmin on top of Mirena

Hi, I've posted another thread about Mirena but just wondered if anyone has the Mirena but also takes Yasmin to cure skin problems caused by the Mirena?

A nurse just suggested it and I wasn't sure whether its a good idea or not due to the high hormone level.

Personally I'd have the mirena taken out and look for a nonhormonal contraception such as the regular coil, rather than take more hormones.

I'm going to my gp this week to ask about the same thing, for gynae problems rather than for skin problems. My research suggestes that the dose from Mirena is so low that its fine to take the pill with it. Lots of people seem to be getting on well with both.

Well technically you can take the combined pill whilst having a Mirena but it seems a bit inappropriate as a long term option.

I'm a practice nurse and if someone was having skin problems there are a dozen other things I'd suggest she try before adding in more oestrogen and progesterone.
