Nail polish!

I've been a nail biter all my life, they were horrible and short and tatty and the only time I ever used back polish was when I put false nails on.

I have finally broken my habit and my nails are lovely now, still growing and need strengthing but they are just beautiful, so proud of them!

So, I need nail polish reccomendations please. Long lasting, chip resistant and easy to put on. Mainly I need a nice nude colour, but will want other colours too.

Thankyou!

Barry m I think called gellish. Lasts ages without any chips and looks like gel nails.

Rimmel do great colours, the brushes are excellent and the polishes are good quality. Barry M is excellent value and always on offer somewhere. In addition to the Gelly range, they have a daylight cured range which is supposed to last well, but I haven't tried it yet.
Essie have the best nudes, I think, they are a little more expensive but not massively so.
Sally Hansen do a two step gel nails kit, loads of colours in the range, and it has the really nice wide brushes like Rimmel do.
OPI I really like for deep reds (bright red doesn't suit me) - they seem to have an unending supply of them, and Illamasqua have some gorgeous dark colours, but these are more expensive (I mostly buy off ebay).

It's addictive once you get started!

Gonna have to make my way to boots!

I found an old nail polish which is a boujouis one which looks lovely on so I might try some more in that range too, I'm just so excited that I can actually wear nail polish now!

I love vinylux

I use Maybelline or Rimmel. Always do a clear coat on the bottom, two coats of whatever colour then aaages after its dried, another coat of clear. Makes it last ages. Dont paint to the very edges of your nails leave a miniscule gap up each side.

I've tried so many different nail varnishes and find Mavela www.mavala.co.uk to be the best. They go on nicely, dry quickly and don't chip much.

I will have to keep them shortish for work anyway, they are at the perfect length now. Well some are still a bit short but will catch up!

Will have a look at all your suggestions, thank you Smile

Vinylux - I am a total convert. They don't require a base coat, and with a top coat last up to a week on me. The top coat extends the life of other polishes as well.

I buy from nail polish direct

Barry M gelly range is great.

Over the years I have tried all sorts, even the most expensive, but these are the only ones that statement on my nails.

Plus they do a great range.
